What was I thinking?

I was given the opportunity to write about some pictures by Blake Andrews, http://blakeandrews.blogspot.com/2010/03/michael-zweibel-what-was-he-thinking.html, and I thank him for it. It made me consider how I make pictures and indeed what I was thinking.

It's a good thing to review what I've done but I have this fear that if I dwell too much on the why and how I make a successful picture that somehow I'll become self-conscious and stumble. After the fact I could reconstruct for you what it was that attracted me and provide some context of what was going on but I worry that to be guided by a concept when I'm out in the world would close my mind. Photography is an art of re-cognition, of transformation, of turning the now into the realm of dreams. What is out there is material to be discovered, collected, reviewed, processed and presented. As I'm gathering it I have no idea how or if I'll use it.

Presentation: yeah, well about that...

I'm going to try to post more pictures. I'm going to try to be Rigorous about it.
Here are two composites.
