Above picture by Jack Zwiebel in 1947. Why did he stop the car and take it? Every other picture in the little booklet was of a scenic vista, state capitol or statue, all dead-on. Was it some fleeting poetic impulse? A need to make an ambiguous Friedlander-esque American scene?
